Sub-group of the JC on Agriculture, Food and the Marine
At our meeting this week, the newly formed Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine discussed our work programme for the coming year. The Committee identified the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) as one of our key policy priorities. The Committee agreed to set up a sub-group of the Committee to consider issues of concern particularly within the smaller community/island fishing groups with a view to feeding into the discussions on the CFP and producing a report at a later stage.
The Committee has already commenced meetings with some of the fishing groups – representatives from the Donegal Islands Committee will be in attendance next week
