As Mr. Phil Hogan T.D., Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, today (22 January 2014) announced that the Government has agreed that the European Parliament and Local Elections will be held on Friday 23 May 2014, members of the Bray Fine Gael branch convened to select their candidates for the 2014 Local Elections at the Wilton Hotel on Tuesday 21st. Three candidates were selected to go forward to contest seats for the Bray Local Electoral Area. The candidates selected were Cllr. Mick Glynn, Cllr John Ryan and Cllr Sarah Wray Andrew Doyle said he was delighted for the candidates selected.
Deputy Doyle compliments the candidates of Glynn, Wray and Ryan, and said “I am delighted with the candidates that have been selected by Fine Gael as it’s a very strong combination each candidate has a proven track record of results as ongoing Councillors in the area for working tirelessly in the Town, family and community supports, facilitating business support, promoting Tourism in Bray and assisting in the development of events such as Bray Summer Fest, St Patrick’s Day Parade and the special event surrounding Katie Taylor’s Olympic triumphs. The positivity that emanated from each candidate at the Selection Convention was extremely encouraging for the local elections in Bray this year.”
People who are eligible to vote application forms will need to be received by the registration authority for the area in which the applicant is resident not later than 6 May 2014. For those seeking inclusion in the supplement to the postal and special voters lists, the application forms will need to be received by the registration authority not later than 26 April 2014
