Last Friday was a historic day in Dáil Eireann. As I sat in the Dáil chamber and joined my colleagues in a round of applause to congratulate the Taoiseach on his reappointment I felt a range of emotions. I was both pleased and relieved to see Enda Kenny officially declared Taoiseach and I also felt a huge sense of pride that, after a difficult election and 70 tough days of negotiations, we finally had formed a government.
