“New preliminary checks for the online Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) will simplify the application process for Wicklow farmers,” says local Fine Gael TD & Minister of State Andrew Doyle. “The preliminary checks, which have already begun, will allow the Department to notify applicants of any non-compliance in the areas of overclaims, dual claims, and overlaps. “Applicants will have until the 20th of June to rectify any non-compliance online, and there will be no penalty or reduction where such non-compliance is fully rectified by that date. “It is great that Wicklow farmers will have this opportunity to iron out any issues well ahead of the final deadline.
