Taste of Wicklow 2016

2355Andrew Doyle, has said that the 4th Taste of Wicklow was another huge success.

“I’d like to congratulate the organisers of the 4th Taste of Wicklow for another hugely successful event.

“Despite poor weather conditions, over 2,500 people turned out for the festival last Sunday (19th July), which was held in the Abbey Grounds in Wicklow Town.

“Some of the highlights included the cooking demonstrations by Neven Maguire and Derry Clarke, who cooked beautiful food, using local ingredients, such as Wicklow Oils and Killmullin Apple juice. Other more local and hugely supportive chefs Paul Kelly, Rory Morahan, Veronica O’Reilly from Healthy Habits Cafe, Alan Hegarty from the Fishman and Andy McDaniel from the Bridge Tavern all contributed to making it a very enjoyable day.

“It was also great to see students from Dominic College and East Glendalough Wicklow wow the audience by cooking up fantastic food in the Chefs Theatre.

“This great event showcased the best of Wicklow, featuring over 30 local artisan producers.

“It was an extremely well organised festival and I would like to congratulate Councillor Irene Winters and Pascal Burke from Wicklow Chamber of Commerce for organising it and SuperValu Wicklow Town for co-sponsoring.

“Taste of Wicklow coincided with the Round Ireland Sailfest, meaning this was a great weekend for Wicklow Town. I look forward to the Sailfest returning to Wicklow Sailing Club in the future and the 2017 Taste of Wicklow.”
