Fine Gael TD and Minister of State Andrew Doyle, has received confirmation from the Minister for Education, that major capital funding has been approved for the delivery of additional accommodation at Scoil Naisiunta Mhuire, Stratford on Slaney.
“I am delighted to confirm that major funding has been approved for Stratford National School for much needed additional accommodation. The current building is in extremely poor condition and no major construction work has taken place in a number of years at the school. I have been working alongside the Department of Education and the school to secure funding for necessary structural improvements”.
The approval comprises of 2 General Classrooms (80m2) each to include WC’s and storage. A general office and a universally accessible WC for assisted users. The scope of the project also includes work to the existing building. Work to the existing building is the amalgamation of the two existing classrooms to form one classroom and the refurbishment of this building element.
“This is a huge development for the school and the community of Stratford on Slaney and I would like to commend the Principal, Ms O’Keeffe, Board of Management and staff for their on-going work and dedication to guarantee this application was approved”
