Fine Gael Wicklow, East Carlow TD, Andrew Doyle, has welcomed the allocation of €25,200 for rural recreation projects in Wicklow. “Wicklow has been allocated €25,200 for rural recreation projects, which is extremely welcome and will help to boost international tourism and staycation tourism in Wicklow. “This funding is part of the 2017 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme, the Scheme is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and is designed to maintain and improve our outdoor recreational infrastructure. “The Wicklow Way, established in 1980 will receive €7,200 to further develop its unspoilt mountain trails appreciated by many locals and tourists.
